Windermere
Windermere if one of the most famous
towns in the state of Florida. If your are a golfer you will
recognize it as the home of Tiger Woods, and if you are a
Basketball or Baseball fan you will know it as the home of
Shaq and Ken Griffy Jr.among others. The heart and soul of
Windermere is its small quante town atmosphere, but the thing
that makes Windermere the town of choice for so many multi
million dollar homes it the Butler Chain of Lakes.
The Butler Chain is
12 interlocking lakes that cover 4,720 acres. There are 2
main public access ramps to the chain, or what lots are remaining
with frontage you can expect to pay $500,000 to $2,000,000
for an acre. The Butler Chain is the play groud for many different
water sports to include professional and amature skiers and
wakeboarders, fishing with depths of up to 50 feet, and jet
skiers. If water sports is not your thing there is an abundance
of larger boats and pontunes that residents use to visit friends
on the chain, celibrate a fine afternoon meeting other people
and cooking out on the edges of Bird Island or just pick your
food up the the floating bar-BQ resteraunt. The many multi
million dollar mansions and celebrity homes located on the
chain make a great show on thier own, if you live on the chain
or have access you can expect to take visitors out on the
chain and make a day out of viewing the masterpiece homes
and celebritys backyards.
Schools and safety
are often the main reason for many of the 2,000+ residents.
The Schools are among the best rated in the state and the
police are some of the best you will find. There are a fiew
thing to know before purchasing a home in Windermere. The
city limits are very different than the mailing address, and
wile the a mailing address is usualy considerd Windermere
it is officialy know as unincoprerated Orlando and will not
be covered by the Windermere Police. Many neighborhoods will
have the words Winder, Windermere, or Wintermere in the name
of the subdavision but are not in the city of Windermere.
